in memory of a friend...

For the past one year my friend, once cell mates, had been fighting the battle of Leukemia. I would say that she had indeed fought well... As she moved on to be with the Lord this morning, it was a feeling of sadness, yet glad. Sad because I felt that I would have been able to spend more time with her, visit her more often when she was in the hospital, etc etc. Yet I'm glad, because I know that she is in a much better place now. No more medication and machines... but just being in the presence of the Lord. Sad because of the regrets of the things not done/could have done, yet glad because of the hope that I can say to her (which I didn't had the chance to say... but hold deep in my heart)... that I'll see her on the other side. This whole incident really got me thinking deep. You can hear alot of things about people dying from cancer, or thousands dying from all around the world... things are definitely different when that person has once crossed your life. I'm really glad she did... and I'm sure God had been able to use her purposefully too. Life... The Lord gives, the Lord takes.... all things belongs to Him alone. As a wise man says... It is really not about how long you live, but how you live your life. If there is just one thing that I can learn from this dear friend, that will be to live life purposefully. No one knows what happens tomorrow, only God knows. Catching up with a friend tomorrow, or even saying something that you had always wanted but haven't to someone... or even that chance to share Christ with someone else... don't think you will have another day because really... no one knows. Live your life the way you should, because there are people who can't... Lord please continue to use me purposefully each day... that I may live our this life that you had given to me. Let me be a blessing to others, just as how Elsie had been a blessing to me when she was here. Let me be willing to be a stepping stone to others, so that they may grow to love You more. In Jesus' name... Amen. ... in memory of my dear friend Elsie...
