God rebuilds life.
Today's sermon spoke (or rather God spoke through pastor khong) to me strongly.
When pastor was saying that most of the Christians in church are saying: "I will run the race. I will continue to go to church, tithe regularly, pray and read the bible regularly. But I will not strive to win. Count me out for all the outreach events, don't ask me to lead cell group. I am comfortable where I am now."
I can totally relate to that. It was just exactly what I was intending to do since starting from a few weeks back.
And the reason?
"I have enough of all that I had experienced in the past. I'm tired of it already."
My past experiences had blocked me from experiencing the fullness of God for the past few weeks/months. Mainly was in the area of cell leading. I had the passion to lead, I had the heart for my girls. But it was when after all the hard work, sweat and tears that I have put in, all I got in return was "I don't want to go to church anymore". It was because of this that my heart was broken, and I felt that all that I had done was just for nothing.
And I thought: "why bother? I'll just be a normal Christian, believe that Jesus is my saviour, believe that He is the truth, the way, and the life. God still love me anyway. And I will still go to heaven."
All the thoughts was just for one reason: Fear of disappointment.
But yet the God that I know is a God who rebuilds life. Today I was totally convinced of that.
My heart was broken for Him, and the Lord had allowed it to happen. Why?
Imagine for me a old filthy building, one that looks like it is going to collapse anytime. How are you going to renew it? The only way is to demolish the whole building, and to rebuild it right from its foundation!
In the same way, God demolished my old self and allowed my heart to be broken, just so that He may rebuild and give me a new heart. A heart that beats truly for Jesus alone.
God will bring us through difficult times, bring you through situations that breaks your heart. This experiences may make you tremble the moment you hear about it. Not only that, God wants to bring you BACK to the same situations that had once broken your heart. (Just like how God asked Moses to go back to Egypt)
So what now? Do you say No and run away from it?
NO! Instead, trust in the Lord, and don't look at the past. Instead, look that the God that you believe in. Is there any problem too big that He cannot solve? Definitely not.
Just as I had been broken, now restored, will You too believe that God will deliver you from ALL things?
Lord Father, thank you for restoring me. Lord I pray that as I continue to run, Lord may the strength come from You and You alone. Help me to put my FULL trust in you. Help me to depend on You, and to believe You for great things and great miracles. More than that, Lord I pray that the past experiences that You had put me through will not stop me from doing Your will. Instead, it will be experiences that help me to learn to depend on You for strength and wisdom and success. Continue to use me to bless others, and not let what I had gone through be nothing beneficial. Thank you Lord. In Jesus' name I pray, AMEN!Labels: Devotion

tribe camp
Just came back from tribe camp. It was really great (despite of my flu symptoms that were giving me headaches, tiredness, and the moody emotions). God's presence was just so awesome. It had been a really long time since I last heard from God in such a close and personal way.
I shall elaborate further after I have finished with the reflections for the camp. So do be waiting to hear how God had renewed me.
Time to rest, and to allow my body to recover from the flu.
*Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for bringing me through this whole tribe camp. I thank you for all the experiences that you have brought me through together with the big family of God. In the name of Jesus I ask that Lord you will seal up all the work that had been done, and let it sink deep into my heart. Help me never to forget the love that you have for me, the love that is so beautiful. Father... thank you. And Lord I ask that may you come and heal and deliver me from this discomfort and sickness of my physical body. Even as I take my rest for the day, God may your peace and healing be upon me. Grant me a good night rest, and that I may wake up tomorrow morning fresh and filled with your holy presence. I commit myself to you even right now... In Jesus' name I pray... Amen.Labels: Reflection

walking the journey
Shall deviate from the bible study entry for a while..
The journey of life... some say is short... some say it's long.
some enjoy it. some endure it.
But no matter what your answer is... life goes on.
The question is... How are you going to walk the journey?
All of us are in our own different part of this journey, experiencing different challenges, enjoying different excitement and joy, enduring different stress and difficulties.
You may have just went through an enjoyable time and you say "God... thank you for giving me the joy of life".
You may have just went through a difficult time and you say "God... thank you for helping me through the time".
Or you may be just entering into a terrible situation and you ask "God... why is this happening?!".
Life is uncertain... full of different challenges. Tomorrow may never come. But thank God that there is no matter what it is, our life is certainly in the control of God's hand.
With so much uncertainties, why not slow down or pause for a while and just look upon the Lord who is in control?
For the past few days and weeks I have been neglecting God (and trust me that is a pretty easy thing to do). The busyness of life can easily take you far away from God. By just going for Sunday Service, and doing your regular 'Christian duty' of a short little prayer, a little saying of grace before meal. If you are not careful, all this may just become a routine of action and nothing else.
If there is anyone of you who are lost, feeling that the passion and faith for God is no longer there, feeling that you are alone in this gigantic world... would you just pause with me and say to the Father in Heaven...
"God... I know you are with me all the while. Thank you for bringing me through all these good and bad times. I'm sorry for getting so caught up with the things of the world, sorry for running away, sorry for neglecting you Abba Father. Forgive me. Lord... rekindle the spirit, let it burn with passion for You once again. Help me to seek You everyday. Holy Spirit be with me. Remind me of the love of the Father, remind me of the love that sent Jesus to die for me. Let not this love grow dull... but help me to love You..."(This is my prayer to the Father as well...)
Always remember the love of Jesus for you. and me.
God bless you. (:
