Singapore, my home.
Have you heard the theme song for NDP 07 - "There's No Place I'd Rather Be"?
Personally I really love this song. Many of you many find that "hey, the verses of the songs have nothing to do with Singapore!". Yes indeed it has nothing to do with Singapore, but it has a lot to do with us Singaporeans!
Singaporeans often talk about us roaming the world, going to many different places in the different continents, or going abroad to study. Yes Singapore may be so small that there is nothing spectacular about it. However, this song brought out the most important aspect of Singapore, and that is that although Singapore does not have any Eiffel Tower or London Bridge, it is our home. And home... is a place that I'd rather be.
A place I grew up in... is home. A place where my friends and family is... is home. It is at home that we can find out warmth and security. It is at home that we find love. It is at home that we bless and give to everyone else around us.
You can bring me to the ends of the world but there will always be a place I miss... and that's Singapore, my home. I will always thank God for placing me in this wonderful and miraculous island.

Give more, receive even more!
Last Sunday, it was a really great Sunday for me. I had the chance to invite some of the RGS NCC Air girls to church. Although they was not able to make it for the service, I was still really glad they came.We started off with some ice breakers. Great thanks to Michelle and Mr Chan for the exciting and fun ice breakers. I'm sure it had broke the ice. A nice 'performance' was put up specially for me as well! It was good... the fact that it made me laughed (although I really hate that advertisement).
After that comes my sharing with the girls. I had the chance to share with them my personal testimony - how my life was without God, and how I came to know Him. Then comes the highlight of the day, and that is to pray for them individually. Well there was about 16 girls altogether, so Sarah, Michelle, and Angela helped to take the Sec 2s. Really thank God for their help. Of course not forgetting Denise, Benedict, and Jia Wei for their support. :)
I really felt that this year's birthday I just wanted to do it a little differently, that more than receiving the blessings (material or spiritual), I also want to be giving out blessings. Thank you girls for giving me the opportunities to pray for each one of you. :) More than the blessings that I am able to give, I'm sure that I have received much more. Not just blessings, but also the joy of seeing each one of them grow in the different ways.
Know that prayers do not just stop here. Believe, and receive. God longs to answer the prayers of those who have yet to know Him.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." [Philippians 4:6-7]
