tribe camp

Just came back from tribe camp. It was really great (despite of my flu symptoms that were giving me headaches, tiredness, and the moody emotions). God's presence was just so awesome. It had been a really long time since I last heard from God in such a close and personal way.

I shall elaborate further after I have finished with the reflections for the camp. So do be waiting to hear how God had renewed me.

Time to rest, and to allow my body to recover from the flu.

*Dear Father in Heaven, thank you for bringing me through this whole tribe camp. I thank you for all the experiences that you have brought me through together with the big family of God. In the name of Jesus I ask that Lord you will seal up all the work that had been done, and let it sink deep into my heart. Help me never to forget the love that you have for me, the love that is so beautiful. Father... thank you. And Lord I ask that may you come and heal and deliver me from this discomfort and sickness of my physical body. Even as I take my rest for the day, God may your peace and healing be upon me. Grant me a good night rest, and that I may wake up tomorrow morning fresh and filled with your holy presence. I commit myself to you even right now... In Jesus' name I pray... Amen.

G12 Conferece Reflection


Honestly speaking I was not really looking forward to G12 conference when the registration just started. After attending it for the past 2 years, I thought I already know what G12 is all about so did not really see the need for to go again. The last prayer meeting totally changed my thoughts. The conference was not just for us, but more importantly it’s for the delegates! It’s something that FCBC is proud of, and we as members should be even more excited to be going there to hear God’s word right?

Helping out as the technical crew (video), I was not able to fully concentrate in hearing the messages throughout the whole conference. But nevertheless, there was still big ‘take-home’!

Firstly, it’s the passion to preach! Seeing the different speakers up on stage, and the foreign delegates anticipating to hear from each one of them, I caught the spirit of preaching! The world out there needs someone to tell them who Jesus is! And that leads me to think about how I am going to carry this destiny.

So comes to my second catch and that is to “jump into it!” Many times we stand at the edge of what God wants us to do, thinking of this, considering that. We think of all the things in the world that would stop us! But God is just telling us “jump into it!” Is God smaller than the things and people around you? NO! When God says “GO”, He will make sure that the path is opened, and He will even send an angel to go before us!

Looking forward to G12 conference 2008! :D

God works in ways we cannot see


Just last wednesday, one of my fellow cluster sister in Christ, Hai Ting, had to go for a heart operation for this 'hole in the heart' (which means that the oxygenated blood and the de-oxygenated blood can actually mix together, causing a lack of oxygen flowing through the body). All of us had been praying for a miracle ever since we knew of it; that God may even heal her and seal up the hole in the heart. The day of the operation came, the hole did not seal up, and the operation had to go on. However, I was even able to the a bigger blessing that comes out of it.

To show the love and support for her as part of the spiritual family, I was there at the hospital since 7am that day, and walked through the whole journey of the operation with her and her whole family (biologically). More than just as a form of blessing for her, I truly felt that what I was able to receive that day was even much more!

Before she enters into the operation theatre, her aunts and I managed to pray for her and even lift her up into the Lord's hands. The first work of God that came was the doctor. He is also a Christian. During the operation, there was some technical failure and the doctor almost wanted to give up after trying for almost an hour. Just before he do so, he decides to leave it to God and prayed. And upon hearing the 'green light' from God, he changes to a bigger ring (which is to be inserted in to seal up the hole). Immediately, the ring was able to hold to the heart, and more than that, it was very stable! The doctor said that it was really a miracle, even told us that throughout the whole opearation, Hai Ting's physical condition was very stable too! And all thanks to God, the whole operation was a perfect success!

Second work of God was Hai Ting's speedy recovery. There was not a single complication that came after the operation, and by the next day of the operation, she was discharged!

Being in the hospital for more than 12 hours, and seeing through the whole situation, I can only stand in awe and thanksgiving to the Lord. Although the hole did not seal up even before the operation, I caught what God even planned to do. Indeed He work in ways that we cannot see! Because of the operation, I saw Hai Ting's whole family even coming together. More than that, the spiritual family also came closer to pray for her, visit her, and of course in showing her the support. It allowed me to see the importance of family commitments, and even the whole body of Christ coming together (including the doctor).

All in all, I really thank God for who He is. He will work in ways that we cannot see, or work in ways that we cannot understand. But nevertheless, He still loves us dearly! As such, He heals, He provides, and He guides. And we can just simply come to Him and trust in Him just as little children.

walk in the park, swim in the pond

You may be wondering why I labelled the title like this. Well I was kind of reminded of this phrase when I brought the RGS girls out for a little hike at MacRitchie Reservoir. We started of with a slow walk, simply just enjoying the green sceneries, the refreshing sound of the birds and water, and the fresh smell of the air. Took a deep breathe....sniffffff.....ahhhhh... I simply looovvveee the nature.

Just then, the Holy Spirit spoke to me: "Feels good isn't it? Wonder who created all this and put them in such great harmonious and perfect way?"
"Of course it's you God." I replied.
And God spoke again: "yes of course. And I am still the same God who created these and yet love you."

With just that short conversation with God, my heart was simply melted again by His love for me. The God who love me so much that He sent His only Son to die for my sin on the cross 2000 years ago, is the same God who created the heavens and the Earth. Who am I to receive this love? It does not matter to God. To Him, I know that I am His precious daughter that He loves and longs to be close with... Just as He feels the same to everyone else.

This message I have now for all my readers is simple. The God who created the sky, the water, and the trees, also created me and you. And because of sin which separates us from the righteous God, God the Father sent down His ONLY Son Jesus Christ to die for us on the cross for our sins so that we may return back to the Father having cleansed by the blood of Jesus. In the famous bible verse John 3:16 it says: "For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that who so ever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life".

The way back to God is simple, just like a walk in the park and a swim in the pond. All you have to do is just to open your heart to receive Jesus. It is more than just that eternal life that you will receive. It is the relationship with the God who created the oceans and the clouds.

Protege (Discipleship)


Just went to watch this show 'Protege'. Basically, it is about this 'big boss' who is one of the main dealer in the Heroine trafficking trade and one of his trusted disciple (protege) who is actually a undercover from the Police force. This protege had been with the banker for 7 years, and the banker trusts him and was about to hand over his business to him. But before he can do that, he had to teach him all about the drug trafficking at a higher level. ... the rest of the story you can go and watch the show to find out.
Anyway, there was a few 'take-home' and I shall just share about one of them.

Through this show, the Lord showed me the meaning of this word "Discipleship".
In the show, the banker was basically discipling his protege (of course in a wrong business). In Christian life, we also talk about discipleship.

Christian discipleship is a concept that was born when Jesus chose His first followers. A disciple, by definition, is a convinced adherent of a school or individual. In the case of Jesus, His disciples were those who followed Him while He was on earth, as well as those who continue to follow He and His teachings today.

And in Matthew 28, we are called to "Make disciple of all nations". As mentioned in my previous entry, discipleship is never easy. Being a leader/spiritual mother of 5 currently, and 2 of them had been following me for more than a year, if you ask me is it hard? yes of course it will be. But I will press on. Discipleship is about life transformation!

Through this show, God showed me a few things of what it means to disciple:
(i) Trust your disciple
(ii) Bring into your life
(iii) Willing to be discipled

(i) Trust(love)
The key to discipleship is firstly trust, and love. We have to trust them, and to love them. Some things different from the show and true discipleship is that for them, trust is important so that you will not be betrayed. But in Christian discipleship, we talk about trusting in love. God commands us to love one another. In fact, in the bible, John 13:35, Jesus said to His disciples: "By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

(ii) Bring into your life
The banker brought his protege into his life, allowing him to be like his own family member, and practically bringing the protege by his side to watch him. In this same way, we can disciple by showing them our lives. We impact them and teach them through the life we live, through the way we reach out to God and to others. Jesus also discipled in the same way! Through His life on Earth, His disciples were almost always by His side, watching Him do the miracles, and bring taught by Him. Although in this modern and busy world it will be almost impossible for us to have our disciple to live with us, eat with us, and spend everyday together, we can still connect to each other. Or rather, all the more we MUST connect and spend time together. As Hebrew 10:25 says: "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

(iii) Willing to be discipled
Other then discipling, the one discipled also have their role to play. In the show, the protege was willing (well of course that's because he was a undercover and needed to find out more). Jesus' disciples was also willing. In Mark 1:16-18 as Jesus calls His first disciples, " 16As Jesus walked beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen. 17"Come, follow me," Jesus said, "and I will make you fishers of men." 18At once they left their nets and followed him.". The fishermen abandoned their living rice bowl to follow Jesus, someone whom they had only just met. How much are you willing to let go to follow Jesus? How much are you willing to be discipled?

"Father I thank you for what you have showed me today. I pray for those who have read this reflection, to those who are discipling to be encouraged to press on, and to those discipled (which means all of us who are willing to follow Christ), to be willing to give up their life to trust and follow Jesus. May you continue too Lord to teach me to be a disciple-maker for You. Thank you for Your love and grace for me. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen."
