Give more, receive even more!
Last Sunday, it was a really great Sunday for me. I had the chance to invite some of the RGS NCC Air girls to church. Although they was not able to make it for the service, I was still really glad they came.
We started off with some ice breakers. Great thanks to Michelle and Mr Chan for the exciting and fun ice breakers. I'm sure it had broke the ice. A nice 'performance' was put up specially for me as well! It was good... the fact that it made me laughed (although I really hate that advertisement).
After that comes my sharing with the girls. I had the chance to share with them my personal testimony - how my life was without God, and how I came to know Him. Then comes the highlight of the day, and that is to pray for them individually. Well there was about 16 girls altogether, so Sarah, Michelle, and Angela helped to take the Sec 2s. Really thank God for their help. Of course not forgetting Denise, Benedict, and Jia Wei for their support. :)
I really felt that this year's birthday I just wanted to do it a little differently, that more than receiving the blessings (material or spiritual), I also want to be giving out blessings. Thank you girls for giving me the opportunities to pray for each one of you. :) More than the blessings that I am able to give, I'm sure that I have received much more. Not just blessings, but also the joy of seeing each one of them grow in the different ways.
Know that prayers do not just stop here. Believe, and receive. God longs to answer the prayers of those who have yet to know Him.
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." [Philippians 4:6-7]Labels: Thanks Giving

Accepted into NTU
Once again it is proven that God is GOOD!
I have been accepted into NTU, Physics and Applied Physics.
My poly results are somewhat not bad, but still not good enough for it to be named as 'confirm will get into University'. And just waiting for the results of the application into NTU can be quite stress. To think that I only put 4 choices (with the last choice voided because I did not go for the interview with MOE).
People had prayed for me... God telling me not to fear, do not worry. This words I hold on to it tightly, and reminding myself again and again that God will help me get in. But still, thoughts like 'what if I cant get in? what will I do?'. Thus, I prayed hard. Not just to get into NTU, but into the course that I want.
And yes, just last night, I received my answered prayer. NTU had accepted me! And into the course that I want to go.
Isn't God just so so so so great? :D

God works in ways we cannot see

Just last wednesday, one of my fellow cluster sister in Christ, Hai Ting, had to go for a heart operation for this 'hole in the heart' (which means that the oxygenated blood and the de-oxygenated blood can actually mix together, causing a lack of oxygen flowing through the body). All of us had been praying for a miracle ever since we knew of it; that God may even heal her and seal up the hole in the heart. The day of the operation came, the hole did not seal up, and the operation had to go on. However, I was even able to the a bigger blessing that comes out of it.
To show the love and support for her as part of the spiritual family, I was there at the hospital since 7am that day, and walked through the whole journey of the operation with her and her whole family (biologically). More than just as a form of blessing for her, I truly felt that what I was able to receive that day was even much more!
Before she enters into the operation theatre, her aunts and I managed to pray for her and even lift her up into the Lord's hands. The first work of God that came was the doctor. He is also a Christian. During the operation, there was some technical failure and the doctor almost wanted to give up after trying for almost an hour. Just before he do so, he decides to leave it to God and prayed. And upon hearing the 'green light' from God, he changes to a bigger ring (which is to be inserted in to seal up the hole). Immediately, the ring was able to hold to the heart, and more than that, it was very stable! The doctor said that it was really a miracle, even told us that throughout the whole opearation, Hai Ting's physical condition was very stable too! And all thanks to God, the whole operation was a perfect success!
Second work of God was Hai Ting's speedy recovery. There was not a single complication that came after the operation, and by the next day of the operation, she was discharged!
Being in the hospital for more than 12 hours, and seeing through the whole situation, I can only stand in awe and thanksgiving to the Lord. Although the hole did not seal up even before the operation, I caught what God even planned to do. Indeed
He work in ways that we cannot see! Because of the operation, I saw Hai Ting's whole family even coming together. More than that, the spiritual family also came closer to pray for her, visit her, and of course in showing her the support. It allowed me to see the importance of family commitments, and even the whole body of Christ coming together (including the doctor).
All in all, I really thank God for who He is. He will work in ways that we cannot see, or work in ways that we cannot understand. But nevertheless, He still loves us dearly! As such, He heals, He provides, and He guides. And we can just simply come to Him and trust in Him just as little children.

blessings beyond what we ask for

Living life with God is such an exciting thing! Here's one more example.
Today after my lessons which ended at 12noon, it was still raining heavily. So while waiting for the bus, I prayed a little short pray to ask God to stop the rain and at least let me reach home dry. However, as I have arrived at AMK, it was still raining VERY heavily. Terrible.
After loitering for a while, I then decided to just walk in the rain, under my huge thick jacket which I had brought. And as I walk, the water started to fill my shoes until there is this "squashly" feeling. The jacket also started to become much heavier. It was just water resistant and not totally water prove, and I was starting to feel that the internal area of the jacket is getting wet too. The disappointed feeling started to sink in, as to why God did not answer my prayer to stop the rain. Just at the point when I was deep in thoughts, a lady walk towards me with an additional umbrella in her hands.
"nah." And the lady just pass the additional umbrella to me. I was so shocked! My hands just moved to take the umbrella, but my mouth wouldn't even open to say a little 'thank you'. It really blew my mind! I was like, 100m more to my block, and at the point where the jacket cannot hold the rain anymore, and God just send someone to give an umbrella to me! The umbrella that the lady pass to me was spoilt, it cannot be closed anymore, but still very usable at that point of time!
Isn't God just SO great?? Although the rain did not stop, God still blessed me even beyond what I can think of! If God is to just stop the rain, I would have just been saying "God, thanks for answering my prayer." But He did not, but yet showed me His power in a much greater way to such that I would just want to kneel before Him and give Him all the praise!
*******************************************
Psalm 107Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the LORD say this—those he redeemed from the hand of the foe, those he gathered from the lands, from east and west, from north and south.
Some wandered in desert wastelands, finding no way to a city where they could settle. They were hungry and thirsty, and their lives ebbed away.
Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress.
He led them by a straight way to a city where they could settle.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
Some sat in darkness and the deepest gloom, prisoners suffering in iron chains, for they had rebelled against the words of God and despised the counsel of the Most High. So he subjected them to bitter labor; they stumbled, and there was no one to help.
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress.
He brought them out of darkness and the deepest gloom and broke away their chains.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men, for he breaks down gates of bronze and cuts through bars of iron.
Some became fools through their rebellious ways and suffered affliction because of their iniquities. They loathed all food and drew near the gates of death. Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he saved them from their distress. He sent forth his word and healed them; he rescued them from the grave.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them sacrifice thank offerings and tell of his works with songs of joy.
Others went out on the sea in ships; they were merchants on the mighty waters. They saw the works of the LORD, his wonderful deeds in the deep. For he spoke and stirred up a tempest that lifted high the waves. They mounted up to the heavens and went down to the depths; in their peril their courage melted away. They reeled and staggered like drunken men; they were at their wits' end. Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, and he brought them out of their distress. He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed. They were glad when it grew calm, and he guided them to their desired haven.
Let them give thanks to the LORD for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for men. Let them exalt him in the assembly of the people and praise him in the council of the elders.
He turned rivers into a desert, flowing springs into thirsty ground, and fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who lived there. He turned the desert into pools of water and the parched ground into flowing springs; there he brought the hungry to live, and they founded a city where they could settle. They sowed fields and planted vineyards that yielded a fruitful harvest; he blessed them, and their numbers greatly increased, and he did not let their herds diminish. Then their numbers decreased, and they were humbled by oppression, calamity and sorrow; he who pours contempt on nobles made them wander in a trackless waste.
But he lifted the needy out of their affliction and increased their families like flocks.
The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.
Whoever is wise, let him heed these things and consider
the great love of the LORD.**************************************
Lord Father I give thanks to You for your unfailing love for me and of all You wondorous deeds. Thank You Lord for delivering me from the rain. Even at such small things, Lord You cared. Father may You bless the lady who you have sent to bring me the umbrella. May she have peace in her heart, and will come to know You if she have not known. Thank You for Your great love for me. Amen. Good weather! All thanks to God.

The past few days was really great.
Every moment I knew that God was with me. In school, on my way home, at home. God was just beside me. I pray that my intimacy with God will stay like this through this whole year!
Today there was something extraordinary which I want to share with all of you. We had to do some control line flying today for final year project, and being quite experienced in this, and with yesterday raining the whole day, I prayed. I prayed for cool nice weather, no rain, but cloudy enough to cover the sun. And with a total peace in the mind that God WILL answer my prayer, I went off to sleep.
So today during lunch, while me and Daniel was waiting for Jianxun to arrive, it actually started to rain, and rained quite heavily. I still remembered the prayer that I made so I was not really bother about it. Anyway we are at SP, and NCC HQ is rather far from here. And Daniel was saying "if later reach AMK still raining then I will just stay in the bus and take straight home." 3 seconds later after I gave him back the "tsk" and "-.-", I remembered that I told God that I will reply "don't worry. It will not rain, because I have prayed". So since I have 'replied' him already, I did not really bother about it.
Soon enough, Daniel, Jianxun and I was making our way to NCC HQ. On the bus, Daniel replied what he said to me to Jianxun. Once again, by the time I wanted to reply, it was too late.
(A series of events...)
Finally I was able to get a plane to fly. But the plane itself was not very good and thus there was alot of crashes and needed on-the-spot repair. This took up quite some time. The dark clouds began to gather, strong wind, and it started to drizzle just a little. So we were like "shucks! cAT 1 status". I began to pause for a while and said to God "hey God. I prayed. I really believed you will keep the rain away. Now I pray to you again, please send the clouds away! Let us be able to fly, let us be able to walk out of HQ dry!".
And guess what, just a short 5 to 10 minutes later, I looked up into the sky. There was not even a small dark cloud! The big blue sky, with big fluffy beautiful clouds hanging in up there. In just minutes, the weather from changed from a small drizzle with the sky full of dark clouds, to a nice hot weather (yes it became rather hot)!
Who else can do all this, other than God?! Even with small things, when we put our trust in Him, we no longer need to worry. And thanks and glory to God!
" MAKE A joyful noise to the Lord, all you lands!
Serve the Lord with gladness! Come before His presence with singing!
Know (perceive, recognize, and understand with approval) that the Lord is God! It is He Who has made us, not we ourselves [and we are His]! We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
Enter into His gates with thanksgiving and a thank offering and into His courts with praise! Be thankful and say so to Him, bless and affectionately praise His name!
For the Lord is good; His mercy and loving-kindness are everlasting, His faithfulness and truth endure to all generations. "
- Psalm 100 (Amplified Bible)
